What is a Business Intelligence Architect?

A Business Intelligence Architect oversees the establishment of an organization’s data structures and business intelligence. Their responsibilities typically include designing systems and tools according to the company’s needs, studying the feedback of clients, processing and analyzing extensive data, identifying areas needing improvement, and implementing solutions against problem areas. Furthermore, as a business intelligence architect, it is essential to lead teams to reach goals, all while implementing the company’s data security policies and regulations.

What drew you to this career?

Contractor: Opportunities in the medical insurance industry and the diversity of the company brought me here.

How did you find your way to where you are today? (share a little about your professional journey.)

Contractor: I started as a database engineer and have been interested in front-end dashboard design and development.

What are some challenges you face in your industry?

Contractor: The most challenge in this industry is the data element request.

 What do you love about your career?

Contractor: It can provide a summary and deep data analysis to the DO by using the Business Intelligent tool.

What additional education or certification is required/recommended?

Contractor: Business Intelligent tools such as:

  • MicroStrategy
  • PowerBI
  • Database model and SQL

  • Possess knowledge in policy, computer science, or a similar field or discipline.
  • Support assessments of the organization’s challenges using specialized skills and knowledge.
  • Wireframe UI/UX experience.

Any advice for people looking to get into this field?

Contractor: Have a strong understanding of the data model and query and enjoy report development with tools
